Understanding Hot Corners on a Mac
Hey it is Tony from expertvillage.com alright we have talked a little bit about screen savers and the desk top images. You could actually select on your desk top what is known as hot corners. That is the four corners of your desk top. You could see like the four corners here the upper left, the upper right and the lower right and the lower left corner here. That means when you go to it, it will actually do something that you have selected to do. So once again I'm going to go to my blue apple and I'm going to select system preferences. I'm going back to the desk top and screen saver. Alright very good and we are now at the screen saver. So you just kind of go down where it says hot corners. You open that up and you could see that it opens up these four different spots for the hot corners and it shows right here in the previous screen were these corners are. So that is exactly the upper left and upper right, and the lower left and the lower right. So you basically go down to drop down menu and you select whatever you want it to do. So right now I'm going to select this upper upper left one to start the screen saver. Okay that one is set. So maybe I want the bottom one to do something else. Maybe I want the bottom to show me the dash board so we are going to do that. Okay. I don't want to activate these yet but, anyways I'm going to hit okay. I'm going to close out of these which automatically close out the system preferences now you see when I go up to the upper left corner it would go into my screen saver just like that. So there we go. Now I'm going to go to my lower left corner and as you could see boom it shows my dash board which has my calculator, my clock, the time and date or the date and year along with if you are connected with the Internet you can also get your temperature and your weather report as well.
