Squash Terms: Volley

In this segment of terms we are going to just say what is a volley? Well a volley, the strict definition would be taking the ball before it bounces such as...so that is a forehand volley and then same thing as a backhand volley. So that is what a volley means, then we have an attacking volley which would be taking it and possibly putting in an aggressive shot like that, forehand and backhand and then we also have a lob volley, someone hits me a ball and I hit a lob volley so that is what those terms mean. If somebody does a drop volley that means I take the ball and I just drop it and I try to hit it right above the tin as close as I can short so that I take the pace out of it so that is what these terms mean. We also have an overhead which would also be a volley so a volley is any shot that doesn't hit the ground first that you take out of the air.
