Hi I'm Natalie and I'm going to be talking about dreadlocks. A lot of people think that the only people who have dreadlocks or where they originally came from Rastafarian, or Jamaica. Not so. Dreadlocks have been around for very, very long time. The first the first evidence of dreadlocks dates between 2500 and 500 B.C. So that is a very long time ago. It is a very wide spread hair style throughout history: Vikings wore dreads, the Celtics, Romans, Hindu, Coptic Christian monks, Germanic people, pretty much everybody at some people time was into the dreadlocks. So if anybody ever accuses you of culture appropriation if you happen to be an ethnicity besides black you could always retort that everyone has had them, so you are not stealing.
