Restringing the Ukulele. Now if you can find Ukulele strings, that would be ideal. They are very uncommon these days. You might have to go to a specialty shop or a music store that specializes in acoustic instruments. However what you could do as we mentioned earlier is that you could use strings from a classical guitar or a nylon string guitar. These are very common, you could find these at most any music store. Now you won't be using the wound strings at the bottom, we'll assume that you can't find Ukulele strings, you'll want to be using the top three strings, especially the higher strings. If you can buy them individually if the store allows, try and get the highest gage strings you can, meaning, well lowest gage depending on how you look at it, lowest number which would be the smallest diameter of string, maybe around nine or ten gage strings. With the classical strings you're going to have to cut them down. So you might start with the string approximately the length of the Ukulele and then cut it down from there.
