Conductor Tips for Tuning Beginning Orchestra

Many of us will probably not be conducting a professional symphony or professional stream orchestra. My first job I was conducting a beginning orchestra; 5th and 6th grade. And if that's the case I recommend that the conductor have their tuner, find their A and carry their tuner around to each individual instrument to make sure that every student's instrument is in tune. I, I often have the A playing with the tuner in my pocket so I can hear it; walk around to each student, grab their instruments; check the A strings and all the other strings and make sure every things in tune. And that will save you any possible mishaps before the performance begins.
