Alternately of course we are not using microphones or in addition to microphones, you will hook up your vidi controllers, MTR vidi device,to your computer or if you were going to be doing sampling from a record player for example to go from the phono outside of your record player to the phono ends of your control interface, you might be in a circumstance where you go first until mixer and then from that mixer at your control interface all depends on the kind of control interface you are using. Another reason you might want to purchase a mixer is so that you can go from the stereo out with your computer into the mixer and from the stereo out of the interface into the mixer so that you can access sounds both from your control interface and your computer. If there is some sort of MP3 player you have on your computer that is playing music that you just want to listen to for pleasure or if you have mixes on your computer that you are trying listen to, then you will be able to listen to them through your referenced monitors without having to change out a bunch of wires. So mixer is something that can come in real handy for a lot of different uses.
