Do Business After the Entree is Served

Alright, when having a business dinner, the business portion of the dinner does not actually start until after the entree is served. And for lunches, that would, I mean basically you're not talking about several courses, but the business portion would not start until the meal has been on the table. So it's very, very important that prior to that time, you're not talking about business. And this is proper etiquette, you're talking about other things. Now you might be talking about things that are business-related, but you do not bring up the portion of business that this meeting is about until after the entree or the lunch has been served, which means all the business papers that you have, whether they're in a briefcase, whether they're in a folder, whether they are loosely brought about, you must leave your business papers under the table until it is time to talk business. You don't want them sitting on the table next to you, you don't want them in your lap. Completely keep them out of sight until it is time to talk business.
