State Name & Position During Introductions

All right, we are talking about introductions in business and the point of an introduction is to establish a connection between two people in the business world. I mean, that's basically the point of an introduction anywhere, but we are establishing a connection, making an identification. So, it's very important when you are introduced to someone, that you state your name, and your role. What I'm talking about there is, Hi, I'm Tracy Goodwin, and I'm the president of Dell Corporation, or whatever it is. State that information so that the person can then start to make a connection and they will do the same thing. Hi, I'm Sydney Fuller, and I'm a head of marketing for Joe Bob Advertising Company, or whatever it is. That helps us to start to go beyond just the name. In personal situations, sometimes a name is all the information that we need. But in business we have to develop that connection right away to expand on so we can develop a business relationship right away. So make sure and give the pertinent information for who you are, and why you're even having this introduction.
