MIDI Basics: How to Build a Home Recording StudioHi! I'm Arie Pytel for Expert Village. Today we are talking about how you can design your own home studio for music production and recording. Another thing to consider when designing your studio, is something called vidi control. There are different types of vidi controllers. There are vidi keyboards, there are sequencers, there are drum machines that operate on vidi. One of the most popular devices for hip hop production for example is called an MPC which is a type of sequencer which utilizes drum pads in order to activate sounds as well as sequence them and control those sounds either on the device itself or through the computer. Most modern digital keyboards have vidi in and out ports. However, most computers don't have vidi in and out ports. Therefore it is necessary to have either control interface that has some kind of vidi connection or to buy an adapter that goes from vidi to USB.
