Hi there! My name is Arie Pytel for Expert Village. Today we are going to talk about how you can design your own home studio for recording in music production. Since the late 80's it's been possible for musicians to produce their art within their own homes to a greater degree than ever before. Before that time, artists had to go to expensive studios where analog devices such as reel to reel, recording devices, analog mixers, compressors and were needed to produce high quality art of music. Now a lot of those components are available for our home computers that can be used in a digital environment. Today we are going to talk about how to design a home studio for the type of music that you produce. When considering your home studio, it is very important to consider the type of music that you produce because if you are producing music such as electronica for example. You want need a lot of analog or devices and a lot of instruments necessarily many different types of microphones. However if you are a singer or producing acoustics to guitars, it is very important to consider the type of microphone that you will be using which is something we will be talking about in more detail later. We also will be talking about vidi control, vidi use control, interface devices, different types of software, speaker set ups and the lake for digital recording and sampling purposes for whatever kind of music you are producing.
