Let's talk about image review time on your Canon 40D. Now, image review time is just the time that the image is displayed in the LCD screen, right after you've taken the picture. So, let's say I wanted to take a picture here of the book shelf. I take my picture, the image displays for two seconds, and then disappears. That two second time is the image display time, or image review time. To change that amount of time that the image is displayed, what I can do is go into the menu settings here, press menu, at the top left side of your Canon and scroll through to the very first camera settings menu. It's a red square image with a camera in the middle and one white dot to the top right corner of the square. Once I'm in that menu, I can scroll down to review time. Right now you can see that when I select that, press set, let's see, let's exit back out of there. To select review time, I've got that rectangle, red rectangle around review time, press set to change the settings. Now, I've got five options here. I can turn it off. That means I will not see the image after I've taken the picture, on the LCD screen. I got a two second option, a four second option and a eight second option, and then finally, I've got a, an option to hold the image until the auto power off time arrives. So, basically, as soon as the camera decides to power down, that image will be displayed for a fairly long time. Two seconds, I think, is usually pretty good. It's not very long, as you saw, earlier, but it might save you a little bit of battery life. Four seconds, eight seconds, it's really up to you depending upon how long you want to review your images after, after seeing them. Of course, if you're trying to zoom in and look at more detail, you might want a little bit more time to look at your images. So, I'm going to go ahead and leave the review time at two seconds here, press set. That keeps our review time at two seconds and takes us back to the menu. We can scroll around and pick another option, or press menu and deactivate the menu. Our review time has now been set to two seconds.
