Ok the next thing I want to do is give you some tips for effective phone conversations. And the first thing that you want to do is make a reasonable amount of verbal responses to let the person on the other end know that you listen; that you're listening as well as that you understand because see again in real life we can see each other and I can just simply give you the non verbal of nodding my head, so that you know that I'm listening and you know that I'm understanding what it is you're trying to tell me or explain to me. Now what happens when I pick up the phone and I'm doing this; ok guess what, they can't see me; so I have to uh huh, uh huh oh yes o.k.; uh huh, uh no; uh huh, alright. So basically whatever they're saying to me, I'm letting them know I understand. Now you don't have to do it a lot but just enough to let them know that you're comprehending the conversation. And you don't really want to do it to cut them off but it's almost like more of a rhythm. It's a phone conversation rhythm. I think we need to go and pick up the batteries at 5:00, uh huh; o.k. It doesn't really require a response but I need to let you know that I'm listening and I'm in agreement, o.k. So that's the first thing that you need to do.
