I’m Bobbi Linkemer on behalf of expertvillage.com, and I’d like to invite you to visit my website at writeanonfictionbook.com. There is the good old vanity press, which is “you send us your manuscript and we’ll publish it, even if it’s terrible, and you’ll pay us to do it.” If you see anything that says it cost you to have it done and we accept everything, run in the other direction. You do not want vanity press. It’s what really has made it hard for self-publishing to catch on, because everybody knew what vanity press was and it was just paying somebody to put your words between covers, so you don’t want that. There are arrangements that you can do with publishers called co-publishing, where they will do the up front cost, they will do a lot of the production, and you pay them out of sales. The whole book process is one where you need to do your homework, and certainly on the kind of publishing option you choose.
