Attachments in E-Mails

Now let's talk about attachments for a minute. You have to be very, very careful about lengthy attachments. It is imperative that if you are going to send a lengthy attachment that you clear it with the person that you're going to be sending it to. Sometimes people, their computer can't even handle a very, very large attachment. So, you know, if you're just randomly sending a bunch of stuff to someone, you always want to make sure that that's OK. First of all that they want it and that they need it and that it won't choke up their mailbox so that they can't receive anymore emails. So be real careful about those attachments. Also, with attachments, if you're sending them make note of it in the body of the email, attached you will find. Don't just assume that the person's going to know that there's attachments. Make a list in the body of the email to all the attachments, attached is my resume, attached are my transcripts, attached are my reference letters. Whatever it is, make a specific list of all the attachments that should be found.
