Front & Back Matter for Writing a Non-Fiction Book

I’m Bobbi Linkemer on behalf of expertvillage.com, and I’d like to invite you to visit my website at writeanonfictionbook.com. In front of your chapters is something called front matter, which is your introduction, your preface, your forward, your table of contents, which you’ve already written. In back of your chapters is something called back matter, which is your appendices if you’re going to add stuff that you don’t want in the book, a glossary; if you use terminology that you want to explain, a bibliography, if you’ve consulted other books. In the back of this one I have a section called “recommended reading,” where I just list all these books. These are books that writers use that are resource material, and then books over here that are for writers that I have found to be inspirational, helpful, educational. I want to share that with people who are reading this book because I think the more you read other writers the more your read…period…and the more you read other writers who are writing about writing, the more you kind of get in the groove.
