The Side Step for Afro-Cuban Dancing

On behalf of expertvillage.com, my name is Alex Ruiz from Miami Beach, Florida with Salsa Mia dance studio, and today we’re going to teach you Afro-Cuban music. Okay, so as we learned in the previous clip, I showed you how to move your hips from one to the next. So now, let’s go a little lower. Now we’re going to work on our feet. Now, what we’re going to do here is we’re going to do is called a sidestep. Now, anytime you start taking a sidestep, the very first thing you’re going to see is your knee. So we’re going to go 1, and together, out, and together. Every time you land you want to make sure you land on the ball of your feet. Make sure you do it. So you’re going to go 1, and 2, and 3, and 4. As you can see, I land on the ball of my feet in the beginning and at the end of the step.
