Typical Wood Cut Using a Reciprocating Saw

Hi! This is Jon on behalf of expertvillage.com. In this video clip I’ll be showing you a typical wood cut using a reciprocating saw. First off you need to make sure you’re wood is either anchored or clamped. If you are cutting studs in a wall, you want to make sure you’re using a bi-metal blade in case there’s nails in it that you’ll be cutting through. What we’re going to do is, we’re going to place the blade lightly against the work to be cut, we’re going to turn the saw on, allow it to obtain its maximum speed, and then we’re going to go ahead apply pressure to it and make our cut through the piece of wood. When we’re cutting, I’m going to make sure that I’m holding the saw firmly both hands, and whenever possible you want to make sure that that blade guide or that shoe is firmly against our piece of wood.
