Hi! My name is Jamie Yasko-Mangum and I’m with Successful Style and Image. Today on Expert Village we’re going to talk about the proper fit of the bodice and arm circumference of a long sleeve business shirt. When we look at a business shirt many times men don’t know that are different types of inside lines that are part of the bodice part of the shirt. An inside line is the seam, the seam right here on the bodice part of the shirt. Many times long sleeve stayed collar shirts that go with suits most of them have a slight princess we call as women we call a princess cut but men also the type of cut that it cuts inward there are some types that are rectangular cut. The rectangular cut it goes completely from the arm pit it goes completely down. When you’re wearing your shirt that goes into your suit you want to make sure that the bodice fits your abdominal and chest area so that it looks good so when you tuck into your pants and when you put it on with your shirt. It does not need to be too big in the bodice area it doesn’t need to be too big in the chest area where it is completely engulfing you with the shirt. At the same time you do not want a shirt that is too big in the torso area or the chest area, you don’t want it where it’s real tight and the buttons start bulging open that’s when you know it is too tight. When you look here at the shirt it needs to fit nicely along the side, your torso gracing in. If you are more athletic cut with your shirt there are athletic cut stayed collar shirts, look for those in your stores or your boutiques you can find those. When you’re looking at the sleeve you want to make sure the sleeve is not too long you don’t want it coming over your hand. What you want it to do is you’ll see in this you want it to hit right there a little bit below the top part of your thumb, you don’t want it coming clear down by your fingertips. At the same time you don’t want your shirt that is too short that hits you a three quarters length and by all means when you’re wearing a shirt with your suit you do not want to wear short sleeve shirts with suits, you need to make sure that it is a long sleeve shirt. Thank you.
