Business Shirt: Professional Wardrobe for Men

Hello! My name is Jamie Yasko-Mangum and I’m with Successful Style and Image. Today on Expert Village we’re going to talk about the proper shirt collar to wear with a business suit. Many times I see men wear button down collars with their business suit, although button down collars are very nice long sleeved shirts they are not appropriate for a business suit. You can wear them with blazers but not a business suit, I know I’m sounding a little redundant but I want to make the point clear that you wear with business suits you can wear spread collars, you can wear pointed and square collars, you can wear pointed collars a pointed collar is where a collar goes down instead of spreading out like this one is doing, it’s pointed but it comes down right here, pointed collar. The most important these are stayed collars you see the stay that is in here that’s how you know that it is the appropriate type of collar to wear with the shirt. Stayed collar shirts need to be worn with business suits any type of business suit. Again the business suit is the two pieces that go together, you do not want to wear a button down. Thank you
