Stomach Technique of The Swedish Massage

Hi! I’m Tunisia Woods and I’m back again representing Hello Beautiful Mobile Massage Therapy Group, on behalf of Expert Village. Now I want to talk to you about stomach massage. Now everyone may not want a stomach massage, but some do. The benefits of it are if you have intestinal problems, where you may need some help moving that food that you ate a couple days ago just pass, or also just for relaxation. Sometimes a lot of people hold a lot of stress in their stomach, so there are some guidelines that you need to follow when you want to perform a stomach massage. The first thing is you always want to start on the left side of client. I typically start with one hand underneath the client’s back and one on top of the stomach, and I would just have my client take a deep breath. Remember to take a deep breath with your client just for that added relaxation. Then you want to start upwards. You want to start pushing up because you want to follow the intestinal track. Your push up, then you want to push over, then you want to push down. This is the way that the intestines are set up on how we release our food. We always want to move in a clockwise position. Even then if you didn’t have the sheet on, you would go around in a clock wise motion still effleuraging, still petrissaging, but remember always in a clockwise motion for stomach massage. Thank you!
