Hi! My name is Jamie Yasko-Mangum and I’m with Successful Style and Image. Today on Expert Village we’re going to talk about the care of your clothing and accessories. Now that you have this wonderful wardrobe with professional dress suits, you need to make sure you take care of those suits. Suits are not something you need to put in a washer machine, they need to go to a dry cleaner, they don’t need to lay on your floor, they need to be hung up. So when you need to go get your business suit, your stayed long sleeve shirts, when you need to go get them clean, take them to a cleaners. There are many cleaners out there that would just do wonderful jobs. When you bring them home take them out of the sack that they are in and hang them in your closet. If for some reason you think something’s going to happen to your suit, you can leave the plastic that’s on there and put them in your closet. But just remember it is very important to take care of not only the suit but also the shirt with accessories, you need to take care of the tie, you want to make sure they’re hanging, you want to make sure they’re not all rolled up or crinkled up. You want them hanging in your closet and there’s a lot of different types of equipment that you can get, that you can hang your ties on. You want make sure your belts, you want to make sure your belt is also hanging, you want to make sure your cuff links, your cuff links are in their proper boxes so that they don’t get damaged or they scratched. Taking proper care of clothing shows that you care about yourself. When you walk in with your business suit no matter the color that you wear, and it’s all put together and it’s clean and polish the suit and shirt, you’ll communicate business, you’ll communicate leadership.
