Parts of a Guitar
Hi this is Jared North and today we’re going to talk about the anatomy of the guitar. First off, we have this area right here. This is called the body of the guitar. This area right is known as the bridge. These small things right here are call the pegs, the string pegs, they hold the strings in place. The piece that lies across is known as the saddle. These are known as the strings. The hole in the center we call the sound hole. The teardrop shape right here is know as the pick guard. This is the neck and the silver linings on the neck are called the frets. Towards the top of the guitar we have something called the nut. And on the back of the guitar we have something called the peg tuners or the machine heads whichever you prefer to call them. Now electric guitar is very similar. It just has a few added features to it. As you can see we still have the body, we have the bridge, we have the saddle. Now we have pick ups, we have an input jack, we have different tone and volume control knobs, we have a toggle switch, the neck, the frets, we have the nut located right up here and the machine heads, or the tuning pegs that are located at the top of the guitar.
