Hello! On behalf of Expert Village, I'm Kelly Anne and I will be demonstrating beginning jazz dancing for you. This is my friend and partner Darryl he will be assisting. Jazz technique classes are build into three parts. They are the warm up, which is isolation of the body, which develops awareness, coordination, positions of the arms, the legs and feet. Then there is the center part, which is foot work, turn, jumps, short combinations, 8 counts, 16 counts, up to 32 counts. Then there is across the floor which is jazz run, jazz walks, large kicks, and then the class usually builds up to a performance routine which could be 64 counts of choreography. The last part of the class is a cool down, which could be stretches or strengthening exercises like abdominals or sometimes it is just having fun and having like a little freestyle jam. I hope you enjoyed it and thank you for watching I'm Kelly Anne of 56dance.com with my friend Darryl. Special thank you to Expert Village and the Goddess Store for letting up use the studio.
