Hello! On behalf of Expert Village, I'm Kelly Anne and I will be demonstrating beginning jazz dancing for you. This is my friend and partner Darryl; he will be assisting. The best thing that I recommend in amateur and professionals is a hip hop dance sneaker. It is a split sol sneaker; it provides a lot of support. You could point with it and they are available in many different colors. Another good option for jazz classes is a leather footy. It doesn't have as much cushioning, but it helps you articulate your toes and your feel the floor. They also come in tan. For me, when we are doing jumps I pad the inside of my shoes with extra athletic cushions. Especially if the studio that you are practicing in doesn't have a suspended raised floor. If you are dancing on hard tile you definitely want to wear foot protection. A lot of children would want to dance just wearing there socks. If they do that, for safety reasons because it is very slippery, they are suppose to roll it over the heel. Like leave the heel so they could stop. So that is why we fold our socks and only wear them on the balls of the feet. Because otherwise, if they go to fall they could catch there self. Hope you enjoyed it and thank you for watching. I'm Kelly Anne of 56dance.com with my friend my Darryl. Special thank you for Expert Village and the Goddess Store for letting us use the studio.
