Guitar Chord Progressions

Now that we’ve got some basic chords under our belt its time to think about putting them into a progression. The most important thing to remember about your progression is making sure your rhythmic and your time is on cue. So first off lets start with that G that I taught you. Remember the fingering for it. We are going to go G, to C, to D. We are going to count it just like we count our rhythm. One and two and three and four and. Here’s how it goes. One and two and three and four and One and two and three and four and one and two and three and four and. That’s how you do your standard progression. We want to make sure there s a smooth transition between each chord. There should never be a lapse between the chord. It’s like playing basketball, if there is a lapse in your dribble then you are going to commit a foul, it’s the same thing. We want to make sure our rhythm is always on. One and two and three and four and One and two and three and four and One and two and three and four and. Then we can go ahead and add in some of those other chords I taught you. All we did was add in the E and the A. Now we can come back around to the other three chords. One and two and three and four and One and two and three and four and. To the E. One and two and three and four and. To the A. One and two and three and four and. Remember it is important that everything flows in motion
