How to Play Cymbal Catches

In this clip I'm going to show you how to do cymbal catches. Cymbal catches are used a lot of times at the beginning of songs. They can be used anywhere in the song, but mainly you'll hear them at the beginning of songs. Especially a lot of Metal songs. Normally also you're going to hit the same time that you hit the cymbal, you're going to hit the bass drum. You don't have to. There's actually some cool accents that are just the cymbal by itself, that's cool. But normally, like I said when you're playing with the band, in a band situation you do a lot of cymbal catches at the beginning of a song to accentuate the actual down beat or whatever. Okay, so I'm going to do a couple cymbal punches and then I'll actually use all the cymbals and do some cymbal catches. Okay, here we go. Those are cymbal catches, have fun with them man. See you.
