Proper Tuxedo Fitting

Hello! I’m Norman Lamb, owner of Arizona Tuxedos in Scottsdale, Arizona and today on behalf of expertvillage.com, we are going to show you some tuxedos and how you should go about whether you are preparing for your prom, or special event and especially your wedding. Now the first thing when you are selecting your tuxedo is you want to make sure the person measures everything. First you go over the chest, you measure the waist, you measure the neck and you measure the arm. Then you measure the out seam for the pant’s length. Now we know what size to look for in your selection. So in this particular store you have over 50 styles to choose. Richard here has chosen a style here that is a very very popular conservative tuxedo. Now we know that he by measuring him he is a 40 regular, so let’s put a 40 regular on him. Okay, now this is a style that Richard has picked out. Now in putting it on him it fits through the shoulders here. Okay, now he selected a 3 button notch, which is what this coat is. Now what we look at once we have it on him is that it fits through the back, which this does. See how nice it lays on the shoulders. Now the next thing we look at is the length. Now this is very important to have a professional look. The length of the sleeve should be right at the break of the wrist. Now what we do is when we put this coat on you if it’s too long, we mark it. We know exactly what size sleeve to put on this coat. The reason for that is when you wear a tuxedo you always want the white shirt to show at least a half inch outside the coat, so it is important that when you get your tuxedo that the shirt sticks out; that gives you the professional tuxedo look.
