Strike Tai Chi Routines

Hi. I'm Jan Kain. And now we're going to review the entire combination, strike parry- punch. At first, we learned strike parry, and then we learned the punch. Now we're going to put them all together. First, I'm going to do them slowly, so you can see each thing again. And then I'm going to be putting it together for you in the flow speed. So starting from the Brush Knee position, you're going to, once again, turn your left toes out. Left palm up. Shift the weight to the left, really working on your balance. Soft fist with the right hand. Left hand comes around to help you with balance. A little soft, circular kick with the right leg. You can feel the strength and power in your legs and feel the amount of work it takes to balance. Carefully step that right foot down. Strike the gong. Bringing the right fist back, palm up. You're now going to take that step with the left foot. Shift the weight forward, twisting the spine and the waist. And punch, nice and strong, with the right hand. Left hand protects right wrist. Lots of weight in that left leg. Lots of weight and strength from both legs. So now, if you'd like to see it a little bit quicker. It's going to go like this. Strike the gong and punch.
