What supplies do I need for my dog? My recommendation is, if you're a first time dog owner, and you're picking up your first puppy, the following supplies will be needed. As I mentioned in a previous segment, a strong, wire or metal crate to house your dog through potty training, as well as giving him his own den or private home. Think of what type of breed you got and how big your dog will get when full grown, will determine the size crate that you will need. Besides a crate, I would strongly recommend a quality dog food. Many dog foods are comprised of mainly fillers, grains, wheats and rices that are not truly nutritional for your dog. Do your research and please look at a future segment that I have in this segment, which I'll go into greater detail on dog food. Grooming brushes and combs are highly recommended to keep your dog's coat clean. I would also recommend a, a urine sanitizer as well as a product that you can spray on objects that has a bitter flavor, in case your dog begins to chew on chairs and furniture in the house. Bedding and other items will be recommended for the arrival of your dog.
