Using Ghost Notes for Drum Patterns
Okay, this next idea is that of taking the half-time shuffle and putting in ghost notes in between on the middle triplet partials. And basically, a couple of examples of this are like this. So, the idea, as you can see, is taking the ghost notes and putting them in between the high hat notes there. This is kind of complicated to just sit down and do, so what we'll do is break it down. First we'll look at just what the hands are doing. Then, we'll look at adding in the feet and then we can look at a bunch of different variations that we can do. You've got to be really comfortable playing just those first and third triplet partials over here to be able to put those ghost notes in between.
