Half-Time Shuffle Back Beat on 3 Drum Pattern

Our next example of the half-time shuffle, we'll just play quarter notes on the bass drum, but really that back beat on three is where that half-time shuffle feel comes from. You'll see here that I'm going to add some bass drum notes. It's not going to change the fact that it still feels slow like a half-time beat. And, here it is with the shuffle hi-hat pattern. So, you probably will need to at first, count this a little bit to make sure you get that back beat on three. You'll want to play the back beats on two and on four. But, once you get this idea of the half-time feel, you'll have time playing all these examples.
