Boxing Training with Medicine Balls

The next area we're gong to talk about is the medicine ball and again, assortment is key for any gym. You should have an assortment of different sizes and usually the size is indicated by the actual weight itself. The first one you look at is one of the smaller ones. This is a nine to ten pound medicine ball and there's a multitude of exercises you can do with the medicine balls and those will all be explained later in individual clips. But the key again, having an assortment of medicine balls. The smaller ones, not only can they be used by the juniors but also by the adults, even the heavier, super heavy weight doesn't have to use the larger ones, they can use the smaller ones for different type of exercises where you don't necessarily need the heavier ball. When it does come time for using the heavier ball, they'll go up to about fifteen pounds. The heavier ones not only can be used for tossing it at each other but also for different types of exercises as far as lifting and walking up and down the stairs. The last thing you want to do with a medicine ball, however, is to have someone lay down and then drop it down onto them. That's not what we do anymore. Thank you.
