Mandolin Scale Exercise: Thirds

So, now what we're doing another just a little exercise that can be applied to all of the fingers that we've done. We're going to go up in thirds. What thirds are, their the basic building blocks of chords. How you find a third, is using our major scale pattern we can count from the one two. Each scale degree gets a number. So, one two three four five six seven. Seven numbers, seven notes in the scale. We're going thirds. So, it simply goes from one skip two and go to three. Ok. So, basically every other note gets a third. So, when I go to my secondary of my scale skip three and go to four. Another way you can think about it is, the last pattern we did we did a series of three notes. It's going to be your last note. Alright. So, up a scale in thirds. You can keep going up if you want.
