Mandolin Finger Pattern #1 on the 12th Fret

So what we had just done is we had just looked at how each finger starts the scale positions. Now we all start, we started these on this string here. Those positions can be moved around anywhere on the instrument. So we're going to go through and look at how to build these same chords, or the same scale shapes. But up here, up on the neck. And we'll eventually move down to open positions as well. So this one here, we're going to start again once with our pinky finger o.k? Just like we started this one here, we're going to start this one here. Because this is also D, and we're going to play D major scale up the neck. And so this D right here is also this open D string down here at the bottom o.k? So that's how you also get your open positions. See? So they're all the same scale but just where you start with your finger helps us keep our fingers located in the right spot.
