Let's take a look at a bass guitar. A bass guitar typically has four strings on it, and it plays one octave lower than a standard guitar, otherwise, the four strings are tuned exactly to the same name of the note, E, A, D, and G. This bass guitar happens to have two pickups, one arranged in a split pattern and one in a straight pattern. That helps balance the sound out from the strings differently on each pickup. Each pickup has a volume control and one master tone control to make the sound either more bright or more bassy sounding. This, like a lot of basses, has a bolt on neck and a very nice finish on the body. This bass is ideal for beginners and intermediates because its' tone is very versatile and it plays very well. It's a great instrument.
