This is a guitar with three pickups. It's patterned after the design by Leo Fender. This particular instrument has a bolt on neck as Leo Fender did not make set neck instruments. This guitar features three separate pickup sections and two tone control knobs and one volume knob, as opposed to some guitars having just one volume and one tone. It also has a selector switch that moves through five different positions to give you different combinations of these magnetic pickups. Those inherently alter the character of the sound. As with the other guitar, the electric vibrations from the pickups are transported to an amplifier through a cable through the output jack here. Again, this is a Fender-styled instrument with a bolt on neck.
