Let's take a look at this cello. This instrument is a half sized cello, and like all the members of the violin family, they come in various sizes to meet the size of the player. A full size cello would not be appropriate for a beginning person in elementary school. The cello is played very similarly to the violin except it's played seated. This pin is adjusted to allow the cello to come to the proper height with the player. A bow is drawn across the strings, as with the violin, in order to vibrate them, and the pitch the cello makes is controlled by pressing the fingers onto the strings. Like other wood instruments, the cello is susceptible to damage by poor care and extreme temperatures or wild variances in humidity. If kept in a human environment, however, you should never have any trouble with your cello giving you splits in the wood or other difficulties. This is a half size cello.
