Creating a Pro Tools Session

The first I want to show you how to do is how to create a session. So first, we're going go into our Pro Tools and go to File and New Session. Basically figure out where you want to put the file and create a folder for that session. I'm going to do a new session within this Expert Village folder. You can choose either to record within AIFs or WAVs. Sample rate is definitely up to what kind of Pro Tools you have. You can choose between 16 bit or 24 bit and also a fader gain of 6 decibels or 12 decibels. And you can also enforce Mac and PC capability. Once you've gotten the settings you want, just press save and your session should be created and from here you can create any types of tracks you need. Usually start off with a master fader stereo. Add a couple mono tracks for your drums, couple stereo sample or any type of instruments and begin your track.
