Jumping Moves for the Game of Chinese Checkers
Hi! My name is Carlos Ramos Jr. and I'm coming to you on behalf Expert Village and today we're talking about the game of Chinese checkers. I got the board all setup even though you know how to move the men now and you know the object is to get everyone over here. Let's talk about an advance feature here and it's jumping, now remember you can only move your man one space at a time, one hole at a time but now there's a way to get two spaces at once, so you can actually jump over one of your men as long as there's a hole on the opposite side of him, you can jump him and place your peg here now and you could also jump over the opponents peg as well. Now this isn't like checkers where once you jump someone you take their man, remember the object isn't to conquer pegs, is to move your pegs from one side to the other. So when you're jumping, they stay there but you've advanced your peg a little bit further now and there's ways to do multiple jumps, we'll go over that a little bit later but just know that you can jump over one peg as long as there's an empty spot on the opposite side of the peg. Now you can't jump over two pegs and try to do it that way, there has to be a single peg and something on the opposite side there. So that's a really cool way of getting ahead of the game you know and you can continuously do that, so make sure you're setting up opportunities and looking for those opportunities to jump and move your men two spaces instead of one.
