Next area we're going to talk about is jump ropes. Boxing and jump roping go back as far as each other. The old standby cotton jump rope is standing by. Today, we have a lot more different jump ropes to choose from. We have some heavier leather ones with actually weighted handles. These are a little bit slower. But, they also give you a better workout. Not necessarily the best jump rope for the beginner. Jump ropes come in many different sizes and lengths. This is a long one. We'll be talking about later on how to judge the length of your own jump rope. This is a little bit long for me, of course. A sign of a good jump rope, is a ball bearing type swivel on the handle. You want something that is going to be fast and be able to swivel, rather than it get tangled up. This is a little bit lighter. The plastic is mostly used for speed jumping, it's a little bit faster. And, for beginners sometimes the rope is too fast. So, what I always tell my boxers is that they come in try to get in three rounds of jump roping first. That's going to start your workout. That gives you a good basic after stretching. Jump roping actually loosens up all your muscles, all the parts you're going to use. It loosens up your toes, your heels, your shoulders, your elbows, your jaw, loosens up a little bit of everything. So, I tell everybody find a jump rope. Try for a around. If you don't like it, go back and get another one. The next time you come in, just remember the one you had. Thanks.
