Cutting of the Ring in Boxing

Continuing on with our discussion and examples of footwork, Nick right here is going to help me try to show you how to actually cut off the ring, and hopefully get your opponent into a corner by cutting off the ring and keeping them into one square section of the ring. So as we both start out in the ring and we're boxing back and forth, as Nick moves that way, I go this way, and as he moves that way, I'm a little bit, one step ahead of him each time. As he takes a half a step, I take a little bit, three-quarters step. Eventually, back and forth, back and forth, I'm going to get him right into that corner. Once he's in the corner, then I can commence to work him and hold him and keep him there a little bit, and then hopefully he won't know, but at some point he may get out, and then vice versa. Then we can do the same thing. Where now that I'm already in a corner because he snuck out, I'm going to try to get out, but he can also in turn try to cut off the ring and now get me in the corner. Okay, that's good, that's good. Oh, okay. So just make sure it doesn't backfire on you.
