Material for Making a Clown Mask
Now I'm going to show you how to make a clown mask. What we'll need for the clown mask is a piece of white fun foam, that's for the base of the mask, a circle of red for the nose, or if you want to do a different color nose, you can choose your color. We're going to use some permanent markers to do some coloring on the fun foam. You want to use permanent so that it won't smudge or come off if it gets wet. Use a piece of elastic for holding the mask on. Maybe some sequins for decorating. A little bit of the feather boa for hair on the side, or you can pick up some of that curly doll hair at the craft store instead of that. I like the feathers, I think they look fun and fuzzy. You're going to need scissors and our base mask to just start and plan the face. Now to get started, you want to take your piece of white fun foam and we'll place our basic mask on top of there. And what we're going to do is make a mask that comes down bigger than our base mask and follow the nose down to here. So you want a shape like that and then a taller forehead for this mask. So we're going to draw to here. Only draw half of the mask and I'm going to make a line at the center. This is my center line of my base mask and my center line here. Now I can fold my fun foam in half at those center lines and I can cut along my planned cutting line and I'll get a nice symmetrical mask. You can cut like that and you just want to trim and round the corners if they're not rounding nicely. And then place your base mask down again and we're going to draw or trace the eye holes. Now the side that you've drawn on is going to end up being the back of the mask, but we can take our scissor and cut those eye holes out.
