Materials for Making Masks
Today I'll show you how to make some of these great fun foam masks. Fun foam is a great thing to make masks out of because its comfortable and soft and it cuts and glues easily. We're going to be using an array of fun foam color sheets. I'm going to use this feather boa stuff it makes a great accent for a lot of our masks. You want to have some elastic for wearing the masks, to hold that onto the head. A little bit of electrical tape or any other kind of soft tape to cover up the staple when we staple the elastic on to the mask. We'll be using a little bit of double stick tape, a really good sticky one for some of our projects. And you'll want an assortment of feathers, sequins, glitter. Of course you'll want some craft glue and you'll want a very thick craft glue that dries quickly and dries clearly. Some good scissors and a stapler. Before we start our mask making, we want to make a basic mask shape and we'll base all of our other masks on a variation of this basic mask shape. Now this I've made out of construction paper and you want to fit it to the person who is going to wearing the mask. You want to be very careful because we will be using it for all of our masks. Now the way that I made it is I cut it in half I cut the shape of a basic mask and then you just put it on the person's face and poke until you get the placement of the eyes and then you can fold the mask in half like this and half like this and then cut an eye section. And then you just keep trying it on. You may have to make it a few times until you get it right, but once you get the basic mask shape like this, then we'll be using it for all our other masks.
