Materials for a Wooden Xylophone Mallet

So now we're going to look at what we need to make a wooden mallet. First of all, we're going to need a section of this rod that we used here, to make our xylophone bar. So, we're going to determine how much of this we want, I'd say about an inch and a half, and we're going to make a cut. To do that, I'm going to slide it right in here into the pipe holder, and I'm going to stop right about where I want to make my cut. Then, over here, we're just going to slowly work on making the cut. So now we've got part of the dowel that's going to make the top of our hammer. Next thing we need to do, we want to replicate the size of our original hammer, just make this one wood. So, we're going to just take a quick eye view, I think about right there, where we want to cut it. There! So now we have the two pieces that we need to make our wooden mallet. We're ready to go.
