So now we're going to explore some options about mallet selection. Now, depending on the kind of tone we want, we can use different mediums, different materials, to make different kinds of mallets. So, for our purposes, we're going to use materials we've already used today. So, we're going to use a little bit of our excess pipe. We're going to use our wooden dowel to make a wooden hammer. Then, we're going to use a smaller dowel as the stick that we're going to use to hit the, you know, as a drum stick kind of thing, to hold the top of the mallet to something that we can use as a hammer. So we're going to explore these options and we're going to go through how we can make both of these options. And, after we're done making them we're going to try them out and give them a test drive on our xylophone which we have set up alongside the grand piano behind me. As you can see we have it setup so it's on a stand there. We have a very nice holder that we made earlier on in the session. That's putting it there and keeping it in place quite nicely. So, let's give this a whirl.
