Tuning the A Pipe for a Xylophone

The next step is to tune our A. So what we're going to do is first we're going to try playing our A. By the way, this thing that I'm using here to play is called a crotal bell mallet. No, we didn't get a very good sound of it. Let's try that again. There it is. Now let's listen to an A on our orchestra bells. Ah, Ah. So, we're just shy of the A, which is perfect. This one is going to take a bit more sanding than the other two did. We're going to have to take off part of the pipe. Oh, we need some power. So, we're going to have to do this for a minute here. Let's give that a try, shall we? Just going to sand off any loose metal particles. Now this pipe has gotten very hot. It's almost hot to even touch. So, what's a good idea to do is to be wearing gloves when you do this, if you have sensitive hands. We're going to try playing it again. We need to go even a little bit higher. Alright, let's try this out. We're just about right there.
