Hi, this is Sean Hobson. When talking about man-to-man defense, one of the most important things you've got to remember on help side is how to stop the drive in the middle. Our help side guys are going to have an opportunity to take a lot charges. One thing they can't do, is they can't back down from the contact. A lot of times you see these guys come in on help side and if this guy's driving, you see a lot of times they'll come in and then they'll turn to the side let them go ahead and shoot. When all he had to do is take one more step over and draw the charge. So what we're going to show you right now is how to draw the charge. We're just going to walk through it. As Ben starts coming down and he recognizes that he's driving the middle, he's going to go ahead and step over. Now what he wants to do is, he wants to take big steps, he wants to get in front of where Ben is going and make him run out of room. Usually what happens is this guy sees him coming over, he's going to ahead and get in the air. That's going to put this player out of control when he comes in and initiates the contact. What Zach needs to do is he needs to hold his ground firm, he needs to make sure and stand there and as soon as he takes the contact, he's going to tuck his chin into his chest and he's going to fall onto his butt and scoot across absorbing some of that contact and taking the charge. This is a great way to fire up your team, take an offensive charge, give the ball back to your team and stop a man that's out of control.
