Hi, this is Sean Hobson. Right now we're talking about the man-to-man defense and where your positioning is on the floor and how you play in the man-to-man defense. What thing we want to talk about right now is called the "closeout". When a pass is made, you can see Kyle right now is in help side, his man is at the top of the key, the ball right now is in the corner. So he's in help side, in between his ball and the man. What he's got to do is, when the ball is skipped from there to the top of the key, he's got to recover out. So go ahead and throw the ball and you stay here. As the ball, pass is made, we don't want Kyle to run out wildly and come out and get himself off balance and expose his open side and be off balance because this guy's going to drive right by him and score. So what we want him to do is, we want him to closeout under control, we want him to be down in a stance, stutter step, which is on our closeout, we want his hands to be up and ready to play defense. We also want him to close out so that this player doesn't drive back into the middle of the defense. We want him to force him to the outside, where the rest of our help defenders are. So we're going to show you real quick. We're going to show you real quick what this looks like at full speed. You see how he stutter steps, he comes out, he's playing good defense, he's got him angled so that he knows where he's going to drive. If this guy takes a step here, he knows he's going that way because he's playing that way. So Kyle could quickly jump over and play defense on him. That's the correct way that you closeout in the defense.
