Cutting Flower Petals for Daisy Crafts
Now I will show you how to make a daisy type flower. You will need a strip of the fun foam about twelve inches by two to three inches. A pipe cleaner for the center. A skewer for the stem. A little leaf end for the for the bottom of the flower and some floral tape. Now to make the leaves for the daisy you want to make a lot of them and if you can, you just cut from the end of the three inch strip of fun foam . You just want to cut this sort of shape or any kind of petal shape. And if you get a rhythm you want a least ten of these petals. So if you get in to rhythm of cutting a petal and then getting rid of the junk. And just do this and it goes very quickly. If you cut your strip, now you can make all different kinds of petal shapes and I will show you later how you can change the look of the flower just by changing the shape of the petal. So when you have about ten or you can do as many as you want. Depending on how full you want to make your flower. Just trim that one over. And you have a nice pile of petals there. Next we will put the flower bottom on that helps to kind of hold everything in place. Just poke that skewer right on there. And then these you just simply put on one at a time. If you put them on sort of alternately. This side that side. And just placing them on it is very, a very simple flower to make. Then you can arrange them just shift the around like this. Till you like the way they look. Next we will make a center for the flower. And we are going to take a pipe cleaner like this and fold it in half and I like to just like to twist a very small circle on the end and then go up one more and twist a another small circle. This helps to give you something to put the skewer on to. So you put the skewer kind of weave it through the two holes that you made. One hole and the other hole like this and that just gives you something to hold on to the skewer. And then you just take the pipe cleaners and kind of crunch them around in a circle. And then poke the ends in so you don't see the ends and you get sort of a rounded kind of a pompom look there. Now you can push that down a snip off any excess skewer at that point and then we will cover the stem with the floral tape.
