Adding Leaves to Stem for Lily Flower Crafts
OK, now we have our five petals that are all dried, and now we're going to put together our flower. You want to put the, arrange the petals so that the pipe cleaners are facing out. And we'll just put three in our hand like this, with the pipe cleaners facing out. And then, two with the pipe cleaners facing in. And gather up all the pipe cleaners and just give them a twist like that. And then we're going to attach it to our skewer. If you can kind of stick your skewer up through the middle of all the pipe cleaners, like that. And kind of arrange the petals in a circle around the skewer with the pipe cleaners facing in. And then use the ends of the pipe cleaners to wrap around and kind of -- it's a little tricky -- but kind of hug the bottom of the petals of the flower, like this. So you see you get like a little ball on the end, and it kind of holds all the petals together like this. And then just whatever is left there we're going to tape on with the floral tape. So take your floral tape and wrap that around nice and tight and cover up those pipe cleaners that are hanging down there. And just cover the whole stick all the way down like that. Now for the lily, you may want to have a longer stem. And in that case, I'll show you how to add another skewer. If you want to have a longer stem for your flower, you can add another skewer by taking a skewer like this and just overlapping by a good amount. You don't want to do it too small an amount, or the stem may bend a little. So, you just -- a pretty good amount, I have like six inches overlap here -- and then take your floral tape and cover the two sticks joined together. And go all the way down to the end of the new stick. And that'll give you a nice long stick for your flower arrangement.
